We’re going streaking through The Quad (no, Will Ferrell, that would be unseemly)! Let’s go eating at The Quad! The newest restaurant at The Quad in Scottsdale, is PITCH, a coal-fired pizza kitchen, with so much more than pizza, to satisfy your every craving. I went in for brunch after a late night of celebratory, open bar wedded bliss, and because my hunger rivaled the size of my hangover, I ordered not one, but two entrees. First up: The Marsala Waffle: A waffle slathered with fig sauce, fresh pears, prosciutto, truffle oil and arugula. My tastebuds literally jumped up and high-fived each other. This dish was breakfast meets bruschetta and was the perfect sweet/savory combo. I would highly recommend ordering as a sharable appetizer. The second dish that added to my food coma was The Breakfast Sandwich: Smoked ham, bacon, fried egg, gouda cheese, and a basil pesto aioli on a house made croissant with a side of truffle fries. Whatever emoji is ‘eyes glazed over and drooling with pure bliss’, just insert that here. I devoured it. And being that I am constantly on a hunt for the best breakfast sandwiches, this one is getting cemented on my favorites list.
But the stand out dish that my husband ordered, was the The SHORT RIB BURRITO: Slow braised angus beef, roasted red peppers, potatoes, mozzarella, jalapeño sauce, wrapped in a flour tortilla topped with fried eggs. It was so good, that he convinced the guy next to him to order it as well. They both wept manly tears when the food was gone and their plates were damn near licked clean (slight exaggeration, but very slight). The fact that this dish is only $13 is extremely baffling, especially when the flavors and enjoyment were well above the priceless mark. A must-order, dish.
PITCH has such a large, exciting menu, that there is something to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. The indoor-outdoor style of the restaurant is perfectly designed for Scottsdale’s day-to-night dining. They also offer local Press Coffee, self branded PITCH wine, and a full bar to accompany every dish.
PITCH is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
