The Scottsdale Culinary Festival Begins on a Sweet Note with The Chocolate and Wine Experience

The Chocolate and Wine Experience held on Friday January 22nd at Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) was the first of many events, which is part in the Annual Scottsdale Culinary Festival, now in it’s 38th year. The festival is the primary fundraiser for the Scottsdale League for the Arts, which supports local artists, art programs and art education.

The Chocolate and Wine Experience provided guests with a perfect harmony of chocolate, wine and music. Each guest was greeted with a hand dipped chocolate covered strawberry adorned in a tuxedo, perfectly dressed for the occasion. Once inside guests were given samples of local wine, chocolate, cheeses and nibbles, while enjoying the sweet sounds of Sassy and the Sneak Attack playing in the background.

We enjoyed mingling with many of the vendors, such as the wine makers and chocolatiers and listening to how they got started and what makes them unique.

Guests were able to bring out their playful side by posing in the Willy Wonka themed photo booth and painting with chocolate. For those feeling crafty, guests could etch their own wine glasses and take them home.

One of the highlights of the evening was learning how to make artisan chocolates and the wine making process. Once you learn how much time, effort and craftsmanship goes into making artisan chocolates and wine, you will have a new appreciation and never look at a truffle or glass of wine the same way again.

The MIM was the perfect venue for the Chocolate and Wine Experience, which created a beautiful indoor/outdoor event. It’s clear why it was a sell out. Guests know they will enjoy a perfect evening of wine, chocolate, food and fun.
