Could Roosevelt Row get any better? I mean, really. Between art studios, coffee houses, eclectic shops, trendy, comfortable bars, bold, colorful wall murals, funky, friendly people, and those FANTASTIC First Fridays, the Row is one of Phoenix’s greatest hubs for cultural and edible immersion. You wouldn’t think it needed anything else. And yet, one of Uptown’s most popular wine and craft beer bars, Rott n’ Grapes, is about to expand into a larger location at the corner of Roosevelt and 3rd Avenue, making the Row even better.
Patty Gii and Keith Shanks are the founders of Rott n’ Grapes Wine & Beer Bar; the name paying playful homage to their beloved rottweilers and their appreciation of fine wine (and other spirits). Rott n’ Grapes is a relatively small affair, but popular with locals for its casual, classy vibe, live music, and abundance of special events. It offers an extensive selection of beers and wines, and about a dozen small plates, like 6” pizzas, meat and olives, meatballs marinara, and a charcuterie board. Oh, and did we mention that it offers Happy Hour every day until 8 p.m.?! It’s a great place, and people want more! More interior and exterior space, more food options, and closer proximity to valley happenings.
Patty and Keith will provide all that and more at the new Bistro. And when I say more, I’m talking a mezzanine level, a speakeasy-style basement, a dog-friendly patio, special, artisan cocktails, full lunch and dinner menus (including weekend brunch), take out and catering services, that prime location sharing building space with the likes of Pita Jungle, Lola Coffee Bar and The Painters Lounge, and a bottle shop including over 200 wine and craft beers.
“We knew this location was something special the moment we walked in,” say Patty and Keith. “We are excited to bring a fun and distinctive bistro to downtown Phoenix!”
And we’re excited to have you! If you haven’t experienced Rott n’ Grapes yet, go check out the Uptown location (on Central Avenue just south of Camelback) to get a taste of what’s to come at the new bistro. As the wine and craft bar is currently ranked #1 by Yelp as the best wine bar in Arizona, we can’t even imagine how awesome the new place will be. Architects and designers are hard at work, and we promise to let you know when the opening date is announced!
Welcome to the Row! We think you’ll fit right in.
