Holy Smoke! Smokehaus to Open in Scottsdale February 1

There’s smoke on the horizon. Old Town Scottsdale’s newest BBQ joint, Smokehouse, is set to open it’s doors February 1, 2016. I was lucky enough to attend a sneak peek event to sample the grub, here’s my take:

The huge outdoor patio grill will definitely draw masses teasing tastebuds with the aroma of charring meats. The Grilled Chicken Wings, found on the “Nibbles” section of the menu, are juicy, kissed with smoke and can be ordered nude (sauce-free), or tossed in your choice of sauces. The Rib Tips are sure to satisfy carnivorous appetites. They come six to an order and although small they are generously meaty and grilled to perfection. My favorite offering on the “Nibbles” menu is the ABT (Atomic Buffalo Turds), smoked jalapenos stuffed with smoked sausage and cheese then wrapped in bacon and grilled. Don’t let the cheeky name fool you – these missile-shaped delicacies explode with tasty heat!

My mouth was on fire but I wanted more! Good thing Smokehaus offers an extensive list of cocktails, beer (draft, bottles and cans) and wine. The Smokehaus Rum Punch certainly packs one with American Born Moonshine, pineapple juice, lime, Big Red, and bitters; and the Prickly Pear Margarita refreshes with tequila, lemon, lime, orange and prickly pear. I can’t wait to go back and try Them Apples, a concoction of apple pie moonshine, Fireball, lemon juice and simple syrup – doesn’t that sound all kinds of amazing?

Smokehaus will also offer BBQ sandwiches, burgers, BBQ plates, salads, a kids menu and dessert. I can speak for the Seasonal Cobbler and the Texas Sheet Cake and my advice to you is to save room to order one…or both because no BBQ dinner is complete without something delicious and sweet to balance out the savory smoke of the meal.

February 1 is only days away so make plans now to extend a warm welcome to Smokehaus with a visit, you’ll be deliciously rewarded when you do.
