Phoenix’s long, lively stretch of 7th Street, already packed with fantastic bars, restaurants, coffee shops and lounges, welcomes a fun new addition in Bevvy Uptown. Brought to life by Evening Entertainment Group (creators of Sandbar, Bottled Blonde, Skylanes and many others), Bevvy promises a relaxed, playful venue with elevated pub grub and no lack of things to do. Funky décor and vibe? Check. Large, spacious patio? Check. Retro arcade and table games? Check. Delicious eats and drinks? Check. And a bonus for me personally, only about a half mile away from home. I think I’ve found my new go-to place!

We were fortunate to check Bevvy out in the early weeks of April when our glorious spring weather was still holding; so we decided to enjoy the comfy, rounded booths on the patio. Dozens of pub tables also dot the space, with views of the indoor/outdoor bar on one side, bustling 7th Street on the other, TV monitors over head, and the light of classic arcade games gleaming from within. The interior boasts dozens of TV screens for catching games, vintage furnishings, and some of the coolest chandeliers I’ve ever seen. While waiting for our grub, we played the Barrel of Monkeys game that was on our table, and I admit, my skills were a little rusty. Two monkeys count as a chain, right? Right?!

We had fun looking through the drink selection (thanks to the cheeky names and descriptions) and decided on two of the $12 signature cocktails: Blue Balls and Berried Alive. Yes, we’re 30-something, working women and laughed like teenagers ordering the former. The drinks were magnifique! Beautifully presented, and so yummy. Bevvy also has shareable cocktails, and dozens of beers and wines to choose from.

The service was both friendly and swift, so we had our food in no time. We tried the House-Fried Mac and Cheese ($10), Bevvy Tots ($12), Pan-Roasted Salmon ($14), and 60/40 Burger ($14). Did we feel healthy chowing down on any of these delectable options (salmon aside)? Not really. Did we care? Definitely not! The mac and cheese was hearty and flavorful, the tots were just the right amount of crispy/crunchy, the salmon and broccoli were well-seasoned and cooked, and that burger was phenomenal. I also dug the size of the burger. Even though it was stacked pretty high, with the made-to order beef patty, cheese, applewood smoked bacon, avocado and fried onions, it was small enough that you didn’t have to cut it in half to actually handle it. Good portion size, juicy, and delicious. Absolutely going back for that puppy.

Bevvy opens at 3 pm Monday through Friday (with different closing times), and at 10 am Saturday and Sunday (also different closing times). Happy hour is offered Monday through Friday, 3 pm to 7 pm , with reverse HH from 10 pm to midnight Sunday through Thursday. Check out their weekend brunch, especially Sunday’s Party Brunch—which is fantastic! Check out the deets HERE. They also do corporate and private events; and seriously, this is an awesome place for your next large get-together.
