Park West Rings in the Holidays with Safe Celebrations this Season

Park West shopping center, located at 9744 West Northern Avenue, is pleased to announce three new community events designed to help shoppers revel in the holidays in a safe and socially distanced manner this season — the social media-based Holiday Caroling Battle; the Holiday Luminaria Walk on November 28; and two “Brighter Together” photo opportunities with seasonal characters (featuring Santa on Saturday, December 5, and The Grinch on Saturday, December 12). Each thoughtfully crafted even is free, and Park West has also incorporated an element of charity this season of giving to benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank.

“We think everyone is excited to celebrate the holidays, but in different way this year,” says Kelly Price, Park West Business Development Manager. “We wanted to provide a sense of holiday cheer while keeping our shoppers’ safety at the very forefront of the season, so each event has been designed to do just that.”

On Saturday, November 28, Park West kicks off the season with a serene Holiday Luminaria Walk. From 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. shoppers and neighbors are invited to socially-distanced stroll through the streets of Park West, which will be illuminated in a warm glow of more than 500 luminarias. Holiday Harmony will help set the mood with festive live  music during the event.

As Buddy the Elf would say, “the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” With that in mind, Park West has launched the Holiday Caroling Battle, an event taking place entirely via Facebook and Instagram platforms beginning November 27.  To enter, caroling enthusiasts are encouraged to post their best family-friendly video of themselves or a group singing a holiday tune to either platform and tag @shopparkwest for a chance to be one of five winners who will receive a $100 gift card to their favorite Park West shop or restaurant. Videos must be posted by Sunday, December 13 at 11:59 p.m. Winners will be selected based on the most likes/views; and winners will be notified on Tuesday, December 15. For every caroling video in which Park West is tagged, the shopping center will donate seven meals to the St. Mary’s Food Bank (up to $500).

For those that love to pose with their favorite holiday character, Park West hosts two free Brighter Together events taking place outside Bath & Body Works and featuring character appearances for photo opportunities. On Saturday, December 5 from noon to 3:00 p.m., guests can snap a photo next to The Grinch, and on Saturday, December 12 from noon to 3:00 p.m., Santa will be on the scene for socially distanced pic opportunities.
