As we head into the fall months, it’s time to start thinking about rich, full-bodied red wines. This September, LDV Winery offers plenty of opportunities to savor the bold flavors and complex aromas of the season.  September kicks off with a Labor Day Weekend celebration. From Aug. 31 to Sept. 2, guests at LDV’s Tasting Room in Old Town Scottsdale can enjoy $10 glasses of wine and special wine-paired tapas.  Or, enjoy one of the many other events and specials taking place throughout the month at the Tasting Room. Summer Wine Sale — through Sept. 2 Take advantage of the final days of LDV Winery’s largest wine sale ever with huge discounts on select wines. LDV Winery is celebrating this bright red grape and all the varieties and vintages it produces by offering 20% off on all bottles of grenache throughout the weekend. Winemaker Wine Time: All About Grenache — Sept. 21, 11 a.m.-noon Join LDV Winery winemaker Curt Dunham for a discussion about the grenache grape — which is grown at the LDV Winery vineyard in the Chiricahua Mountain foothills — and the spicy, fruit-forward red wine it produces. Wine and nibbles are provided. This event is free for LDV’s Sky Islander Wine Club members; $20 for non-members.  Paint N’ Sip Wine Wednesday — Sept. 25, 6-8 p.m. Let your creativity flow as you join LDV Winery for a fun night of artistic pursuits hosted by Paint the Party. This month, paint your own wine glass. No experience needed, and all supplies are provided. Paint one glass for $14 or two glasses $24. Happy Hour wine prices are in effect during class.  Space is limited for these exclusive events. October is around the corner! With the weather cooling down, it’s prime time for wine season — enjoying social time with friends and neighbors and celebrating the simple joy of connecting over an excellent bottle of wine.   Come Over October is a movement recognizing the time-honored social tradition of raising a glass together to celebrate everyday moments. In observance of Come Over October, LDV Winery presents the following events and reasons to come together and savor the communal beverage that is wine!   Cooking with Grapes Saturday, Oct. 5 | 10:30 a.m.-noon This engaging event encourages guests to think outside the “pot” when cooking — including how to incorporate grapes into innovative dishes. This experience is complimentary for wine club members; for non-club members, the price is $20, which includes wine and nibbles.   Wine Time with Curt: Harvest 2024 Update Sunday, Oct. 13 | 11 a.m.-noon Co-owner and Winemaker Curt Dunham’s latest wine time discussion takes guests on a journey to the vineyards by way of a harvest 2024 update. Guests can enjoy wine tastings and nibbles as they learn about what’s new at the LDV Winery and Estate. This event is free for wine club members and $20 for non-club members.   Wine Club Open House Sunday, Oct. 13 | 1-5 p.m. Wine club members are invited to taste new wines and pick up their wine club packages. This event is free for members; there is a fee for guests.   Halloween Themed Paint N’ Sip Wine Wednesday Wednesday, Oct. 23 | 6-8 p.m. Gather the ghouls and head over to the LDV Winery Tasting Room for a spooktacular Halloween-themed Paint N’ Sip event, during which participants will create their own Halloween canvas painting. The cost of this experience is $14, or 2/$24 which includes a tutorial by Paint the Party Mobile Art Studio and the materials needed to create a frightfully fun masterpiece! Guests will enjoy an engaging education and discussion of this topic, along with wine tastings and nibbles. This event is free for wine club members and $20 for non-club members.   October is rife with fun things to do around Old Town, including the Italian Festival on Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20, as well as the Waterfront Fine Art Festival from Friday Oct. 25 through Sunday, Oct. 27.
