The city of Scottsdale is pleased to announce the return of Western Week in 2025. This popular annual event, which honors Scottsdale’s Western roots and Native American heritage through a series of historical events, educational engagements, family-friendly activities and entertainment, takes place throughout Old Town from Saturday, Jan. 25 through Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025.   All week long, Western Week themed events highlight and celebrate Scottsdale’s rich history and the vibrant cultures that define the city today.   “We are excited to present Western Week in 2025 with new experiences and even more opportunities for residents and visitors to learn more about Scottsdale’s history and heritage,” said Rachel Smetana, tourism and events director for the city of Scottsdale. “We encourage all to come out and explore all that Scottsdale was, is and will be thanks to its many  influences, colorful characters, and strong sense of community.”   Signature events taking place during Western Week 2025 include:   Live Music at the Farmers Market Saturday, Jan. 25 | 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Old Town Scottsdale Farmers Market The city’s beloved farmers market takes on a Western twist, with live music and more to get attendees in the spirit of Western Week.   Western Week Kick-Off Saturday, Jan. 25 | 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Scottsdale Rodeo Museum Step into the West at the Rodeo Museum, which invites guests to immerse themselves in the spirit of Western Week by viewing roping demonstrations and exploring rodeo artifacts before kicking back with fun cowboy-style live music in the outdoor beer garden. While there, guests might even be tempted to hop on the bull for a photo!   Western Week on the Bridge Sunday, Jan. 26 | 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Marshall Way Bridge Kick-off the week with Western music and line dancing on the bridge throughout the day. Guests can also enjoy a Frybread Flight Making experience with a Native Art Market, a pop-up hat bar with Mavericks of Scottsdale and more.   Western Movies at Western Spirit Monday, Jan. 27-Sunday, Feb. 2 |Screening times vary per event Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West Throughout the week, the museum, in collaboration with the city of Scottsdale, will present a series of classic Western film and musical screenings for the whole family, ranging from “Calamity Jane” to “Home on the Range”. Nine films in total will be presented throughout the week, featuring introductions by the museum’s chief curator, Andrew P. Nelson, Bob Boze Bell or other guests. Movie pricing is per movie; weekly passes are also available. The Lunar New Year is just around the corner! In celebration, the LDV Winery Tasting Room is featuring a limited-time only sale and offering some lucky food and wine pairing suggestions to bring good luck, prosperity and fortune in the Year of the Snake. From Wednesday, Jan. 29 through Tuesday, Feb. 4, the LDV Winery Tasting Room is featuring 20% off two or more bottles of LDV R.E.D. red wine blends. When selecting wines to celebrate the Lunar New Year, considering the following pairings: Dumplings, which are thought to bring wealth, paired with R.E.D. Rhone Red Blend. Presented by the city of Scottsdale, Western Week celebrates the city’s Old West roots. On Thursday, Jan. 30, as part of the event, the Scottsdale Gallery Association (SGA), presents its Western Week-themed Gold Palette ArtWalk.   The event runs from 6:30-9 p.m. throughout the Scottsdale Arts District, which stretches along Main St. from Scottsdale Rd. to Goldwater Blvd. and north of Indian School Rd. on Marshall Way to 5th Ave. Live country music from Western Fusion will fill the air, encouraging dancing throughout the district. There will be an emphasis on Western art, plus other fun surprises during the event.   “Western Week brings a breadth of energy and excitement to Old Town, including the Scottsdale Arts District,” said SGA President Jinger Richardson. “We are thrilled to welcome our Western-loving art enthusiasts during this event.”   While the Western Week theme will be evident in activities and experiences throughout the Scottsdale Arts District, it will also carry on in participating SGA member galleries, which will be hosting exhibitions and events of their own, including:   Bonner David Galleries 7040 E. Main St., #B In support of those devastated by the California wildfires, Carstens Fine Art presents a drawing for one of Cyndy Carstens’ pen and ink original studies, “Rising Spirits”. This original pen and ink study, which is mounted, matted and framed, will be raffled off to raise funds for World Central Kitchen. This organization is on the ground providing much-needed food, supplies and respite to the first responders and supporting residents. Tickets are $10 each and now available through Thursday, Jan. 30. At 8:30 p.m. that evening, during the ArtWalk, the winner will be announced. All funds will go to the organization.
