The ever popular dive bar, Coach House, in Old Town Scottsdale, never disappoints with their spectacular display of holiday lights.  The entire interior of the bar is aglow beginning around Thanksgiving throughout the holiday season. The cheap drinks, casual atmosphere and a huge outdoor patio (with heaters!) is the perfect way to combat any Grinch-like feelings.

Family friendly fun

Looking for something more snazzy and family friendly? The Fairmont Princess Christmas Experience is your spot. This holiday experience is in its ninth year running. Every year getting bigger and better. The resort pulls out all of the stops with an ice rink, incredible light displays, s’mores stations and of course Santa! This winter wonderland spectacular comes with a price if you are not a hotel guest, so be sure to check their website for details and costs.

Craft Cocktail Carrie’s choice

If like me, craft cocktails are your vice, look no further than Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails in downtown Phoenix. This snazzy bar in Kimpton Hotel Palomar was selected to be one of 80 temporary Christmas themed pop-up bar locations in the United States (the only one in Arizona) this holiday season.  The bar is completely transformed into a cheesy Christmas spectacle, with lights, toy trains, tinsel and your favorite Christmas movie characters.  The top notch cocktail program doesn’t disappoint either.  Choose from a wild array of cleverly named concoctions in festive glassware.  I don’t want to spoil all of the fun, so go see for yourself! But hurry this pop up only lasts until December 30th!
