On Friday, Aug. 5, FOUND:RE Contemporary, the freestanding gallery on Portland Street adjacent to the FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel at 1100 N. Central Ave., unveils its latest exhibition titled “STOP! Motion RE:moved.” The exhibition debuts with an artists’ reception from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will remain on display through Saturday, Oct. 29.

“This collection of stunning art from some of our finest local artists throughout the state gives art enthusiasts an opportunity to view still life art and ‘everyday’ items in a whole new way,” says Jordan Zurn, art and culture curator for FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel and FOUND:RE Contemporary. “As always, we like to showcase a variety of pieces that all reflect a similar theme but are in no way alike. Each artists’ interpretation is vividly showcased in this exhibition.”

“STOP! Motion RE:moved” showcases artwork from 67 Arizona artists that depicts scenes of inanimate, common-day objects that could be considered still lifes, as well as artwork pushing the boundaries of still lifes. The selected works, embracing different styles and mediums of still life art in both 2D and 3D, will be displayed throughout the entire ground floor of FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel.

Guests may RSVP to the opening artists’ reception on Aug. 5 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. via eventbrite.com/o/foundre-phoenix-hotel-17946228346. During the event, guests can enjoy featured cocktails from FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel and MATCH Market & Bar available for purchase. Zurn also leads guided tours of the exhibition, which can be booked via eventbrite.com/e/151706936531.

Pieces will be available for purchase and patrons can preview the exhibition at foundrecontemporary.com.
